Онлайн-академия – образовательный проект для школьников с 8 по 11 классы, стремящихся повысить уровень владения английским языком и выйти за рамки школьной программы. Онлайн-академия работает с октября по апрель, занятия проходят по средам на платформе ZOOM в 18:00 (МСК) на английском языке. Во время обучения мы общаемся на популярные темы, разбираем грамматику и лексику олимпиадного уровня и знакомимся с традициями и культурой разных стран. Занятия ведут ведущие преподаватели кафедры ИЯКТ.

Do you prefer tea or coffee? And what do you think most people in Britain prefer? How to they prefer it? What do they have together with this drink? We are sure you are well aware of the 5 o'clock traditions, but we will bring some more light on the history of it and the special meaning that it carries to all citizens of the foggy Albion.

British staple foods: history, vocabulary, pronounciation.

We all know what food we love to have here in this country to celebrate New Year, Maslenitsa or Ester. It's absolutely imposible to imagine a culture without its staple foods that mark the most important occasions in people's lives. But do you know what British people typically have for Chrsitmas or Easter? What food do they have at wedding celebrations? What is the staple food of British cuisine? We will explore the food traditions together and learn some new facts and history behind the most iconic foods of people of Britain.

British grocery shopping: language variations, vocabulary for food (count/ non-count), containers and quantifiers.

Interaction with participants, language practice through quizzes and games. Is there any difference between a shopping cart and a shopping trolley? Do you think shopping preferences in Britain and Russia vary a lot? Do we have much in common? We will go shopping together and answer all these questions.

Folk songs and stories behind the main characters; names of card suits; names of flowers; 5 o'clock traditions.

We will travel down into the rabbit hole to follow Alice in her jourley in Wonderland. On our way, we will learn some new words and discover some hidden facts and stories behind of the main characters of one of the favorite books of all generations. We are absolutelly sure that after this webinar you will get a new motivation to read this wonderful masterpiece book in its original language, English.

Names for meals, functional language and etiquette at a cafe/ restaurant. Language practice through interaction with the audience, quizzes and games.


At what time do British people usually have breakfast? What goes next? What can you order for dinner and how to do that if you are a foreigner in an English-speaking country? No worries if you do not have answers to these questions yet. Our next session will help you get ready for interacting with a waiter and clarify another question: to tip or not to tip?

Each country has their own cultural features which are vividly represented by animation and cimematography, so British culture is not an exception. Together with our participants we will take a close look at some examples of films, series and cartoons displaying what people look like, as well the way they speak and behave.

Преподаватель английского языка на программе “Английский для инженеров-бакалавров” в Университете МИСИС. С отличием окончила программу англоязычной магистратуры “Second Language Teaching and Pedagogical Design in Digital Environment” в Университете МИСИС, активно применяет полученные знания на практике и регулярно повышает квалификацию. Владеет английским и немецким языками. Татьяна фокусируется на проблемах оценивания результатов учебной деятельности. Уверена, что для изучения английского языка повод не нужен: важна мотивация и понимание того, что язык – это ключ, открывающий множество дверей в многогранном мире в эпоху глобализации.
